Mark S. Cooper BA(Econ), PMP

Mr. Cooper has worked in healthcare supply chain management and operational improvement for his entire career. He is experienced in all phases of project management and process improvement techniques. Mr. Cooper has led many process improvement teams focused on supply channels and order-to-cash processes.  Common approaches, tools and techniques utilized to manage teams span CQI/TQM, Lean, VSM, and Six Sigma.

In six years as the senior manager of Hospira’s Business Change Management group, Mr. Cooper saved over $28 million in supply chain costs. Prior to the spin-off from Abbott Labs, Mr. Cooper’s career evolved from managing the Materials Management Services group to Direct Distribution and then promoted again to Section Manager for Manufacturing and Warehousing.


Abbott placed Mr. Cooper in charge of Abbot Consulting Services delivering supply chain management consulting to Abbott customers.  His clients ranged from academic medical centers such as New York Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center to the 124 clinics of Intermountain Healthcare.


A graduate of Indiana University, Mr. Cooper is a certified Project Management Professional.


Mr. Cooper authored several chapters in materials management textbooks commonly utilized for certification by the International Association of Health Care Materials Management.  He has served on the educational publication advisory boards of Michigan State and Purdue Universities.
